2021 Michelin Fuel Economy Study
Tires: Michelin Spraybib VF420/95R50
Michelin’s 2021 sprayer CTIS study tested sprayer fuel economy both on the road and in the field. Researchers compared the sprayer’s fuel consumption using CTIS-enabled ideal tire pressures with typical “compromise” tire pressures.
The road portion compared an ideal 52 psi to a more common 38–40 psi “compromise” pressure. The result? A 6% fuel economy boost.
The field portion compared an ideal 26/35 psi setup to a more common 32/45 psi setup. The result? An 11% fuel economy boost.
